Open the HEC‐MetVue Program

Launch the HEC‐MetVue executable ("metvue.exe" with the blue raindrop icon ), which is available under the "bin" directory of the HEC-MetVue package.

View the HEC‐MetVue Plugins

HEC-MetVue is pre-loaded with plugins for reading and writing a variety of data formats, as well as plugins for specialized computational tools such HMR52.

From the Tools Menu, click the Plugins option.

Go to the "Installed" tab.

Note that all of the available plugins are active.

Plugins are active if the symbol in the Active column is present.

The following I/O plugins will be used within this workshop: 

• IOPrism
• IOAsciiGrid
• IOMultiDataFormats

Highlighting each plugin provides additional information on its version, source and functions.

Open HEC‐MetVue Project.

From the File menu, select Open Project File …

Browse to: ...\HEC-MetVue_Overview_Workshop\HEC-MetVue_Overview_Start\HEC-MetVue\

Select the project file "OverviewWorkshop.metvue" and Press Open.

The blank slate HEC-MetVue Introduction Workshop project should appear. 

Next, you will check the Default Project Settings before adding data to the project.
