HEC-GeoRAS

HEC-GeoRAS is a GIS extension that provides the user with a set of procedures, tools, and utilities for the preparation of GIS data for import into HEC-RAS and generation of GIS data from RAS output. While the GeoRAS extension is designed for users with limited geographic information systems (GIS) experience, knowledge of GIS is advantageous. Users, however, must have experience modeling with HEC-RAS and have a thorough understanding of river hydraulics to properly create and interpret GIS data sets.

Notice

The HEC-GeoRAS downloads available from this webpage were tested, verified, and are supported by HEC. HEC-GeoRAS Version 10.2 is the last version that was tested and verified to be functional in ArcGIS 10.2.1 and is available from this webpage. HEC will no longer test and verify newer versions of HEC-GeoRAS that is compatible with versions of ArcGIS that are newer than Version 10.2.1. Newer versions of HEC-GeoRAS have been made available from the ESRI FTP site; however, these newer versions have not been tested nor will they be supported by HEC. HEC is developing the necessary GIS capabilities directly within HEC-RAS. HEC-RAS Version 5.0 contains the results mapping capabilities in HEC-GeoRAS Version 10.2, and HEC-RAS Version 5.0.4 will contain geometric preprocessing capabilities. HEC-RAS Version 5.0.4 should be available in the Spring of 2018.

HEC-GeoRAS 10.2 for ArcGIS 10.2

This package will install HEC-GeoRAS 10.2 and all its pre-requisites automatically. Documentation is available from the programs Help menu.

ArcGIS 10.2 (ArcView license) with the 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions are required.

Release Notes: The Animation Tool was not migrated to HEC-GeoRAS 10.2. The native ArcGIS Animation Toolbar must be used.

HEC-GeoRAS 10.1 for ArcGIS 10.1

This package will install HEC-GeoRAS 10.1 and all its pre-requisites automatically. Documentation is available from the programs Help menu.

ArcGIS 10.1 (ArcView license) with the 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions are required.

Release Notes: The Animation Tool was not migrated to HEC-GeoRAS 10.1. The native ArcGIS Animation Toolbar must be used.

Important note for HEC-GeoHMS 10.1 users:
If you previously had HEC-GeoRAS 10.1 installed and want to use HEC-GeoHMS 10.1, you must uninstall the old version of HEC-GeoRAS 10.1 released in Feb 2013 and install the updated setup package below that supports side by side installation with HEC-GeoHMS 10.1.

HEC-GeoRAS 4.3 for ArcGIS 9.3

This package will install HEC-GeoRAS 4.3 and all its pre-requisites automatically.

This version of HEC-GeoRAS is compatible with HEC-GeoHMS 5.0 and will not work with older versions. Download HEC-GeoHMS 5.0 from here.

ArcGIS 9.3 (ArcView license) with the 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions are required.
